The relationship between a Domme and a sub may seem fairly simple. One does the hurting, the other takes the pain, but what makes it work? The Mistresses have talked a lot on this site about how to be a Domme, and they've asked me - on pain of torture, of course - to talk a little about what goes on in the head of a sub during a scene. After all, knowing what your sub is getting out of the scene is a great way to make it better - or worse - for them.

A sub is a sub by choice. Allowing a person to have dominion over you is something that we choose because it gives us something in return. In my situation, for instance, it is a release of responsibility. When I am on my knees, bound wrists to ankles trying to answer My Mistress' questions with Her fingers in my mouth, I am forced to admit that she is in control. It is a tense situation, because I don't know what's about to happen to me, but there is no stress, because I couldn't do anything about it anyway.

I suspect that there are Dommes out there who feel the same (although I would never presume to know for sure what my Mistress thinks or feels). I would assume that having another person hanging on your every word, and knowing that they will do what you say, is an amazing feeling. Especially when life seems chaotic and out of control.

Obey...it's easier.
