There is something about bondage that stirs the soul, awakens the senses, and hurts like hell...okay, that last one may not be so good, but either way if I had to name one band that gets the concept, it would have to be the UK's Massive Attack. From a sub's perspective, being dominated is all about sensation, and Massive Attack's music has that quality about it.

If you've read my thoughts on Immortal Game form the US's Symbion Project, you know that music is the "Happy Place" I go to while the Mistress is plugging away at my poor little abused body.

Anyway...

1998's Mezzanine has everything you need for a night as your Mistress' footstool, barmaid or whatever. Palpable, translucent bass riffs, sparkling vocals from some of the greats of the trip-hop genre, and of course the hypnotic beats that will take your mind off of whatever your particular bitch is doing to you.

Mezzanine is not without it's misses, of course. "Man Next Door" is a GREAT song, but too political to set a good scene. On the other hand, "Black Milk" - the very next track - is awesome for setting a mood, as are most of the tracks on this particular disk. What I'm saying is that this disk may not be perfect, but it's AWFULLY close. Check it out, and check out Massive Attack's other work as well. You can't go wrong.
