Reader Q & ADoes cruelty have to be a part of being a Mistress/Dominatrix?

I am a sub by nature, but my husband would like me to dominate him. I don't have a problem spanking him, pinching playfully, but the idea of out right cruelty does nothing for me and I don't think that's what he is looking for either although I will discuss this with him shortly.

I guess what I am really asking is...do you have to be mean? I have looked at many sites, this one being by far the best and most helpful, but haven't read anything about the idea of "light" dominance. I know it's really about what you and your partner want and are looking for, but any answers, suggestions and tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It is totally up to you. Whether or not you are sadistic in your dealings with you sub is up to you. No one can tell you how to run your relationship except you and your sub. So, if you are not comfortable in a cruel role don't do it.

My Lady is not into that kind of behavior either and she won't do it. Personally, I am not into humiliation as that is a hard limit for me. We don't do that. We are responsible for our relationship.

It all comes down to this, you learn what is out there, what excites you, what you are and are not interested in, and shape your relationship accordingly.

After all, you are the Dominant. No one, not even another Dominant can tell you how your relationship should work or what it should look like.

No one will ever win the battle of the sexes, there's just too much fraternizing with the enemy.
